Scout Active Support allows people to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis. People can still be involved in Scouting without the full-time commitment of being a leader.
SAS get involved in all aspects of scouting - including
- Skills instructors (archery, climbing, water sports, mountain walking etc.)
- Supporting leaders when they are short-handed
- Supporting leaders with specific skills (for example knot skills or bush craft)
- Supporting the catering team at events
It provides a resource for Managers of local Scouting including Group Scout Leaders, District Commissioners and County/Area Commissioners, who can use it in whichever way is required.
As well as helping with events, meetings and projects, Sevenoaks Active Support Unit has a active social programme throughout the year.
Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 years and you can join Active Support whether you new to scouting or if you have an existing role.
