Explorers
Explorers are boys and girls aged between 14 and 18. They do all the same activities as the younger sections but BIGGER and BETTER. They can join at 13 and half if there is a need to move on earlier or they have never been part of scouting before.
The increasing maturity of explorers allows them to be more ambitious and allows them far more scope to really get involved in planning and organising their own programme.
There are currently three Explorer Scout units in the district
- Holmesdale meet on a Tuesday evening mostly at 3rd Sevenoaks HQ in Bradbourne Vale Road.
- Beaufighters meet on a Tuesday evening usually at the Edenbridge Scout HQ.
- Puxty meet on a Monday evening at 4th Sevenoaks HQ in Mill Lane, TN14 5BU.
- Knole meet on a Monday evening at 10th Sevenoaks HQ in Sevenoaks Weald, TN14 6PB
All three units work together to offer joint weekend and overnight activities as well as occasionally meeting in alternate locations.
All explorers can attend any of the meetings.
